well, i am kinda new to efa dressage, but not dressageit. I have had Sunnee (KB Sunset Girl) for 2 years and have competed in mainly dressage but also ode's, combined training events, hacking, sporting and interschool.
Last Year, I won the PCAQ Met Zone 1 Horse and Rider under 14 years, is basically where the same horse and rider combo have to compete at all the zone events, (dressage, CT, ODE, Sporting, JF McGill Formal Day(Pony Club version of hackin) and campdraft) as well as attend official events, and rallys.
Anyway, I also represented the Zone @ State Dressage @ Maryborough, I didn't wanna do any other disciplines coz I am not a very brave jump rider, but I did qualify 4 CT.
This year, I did mainly Interschool and haven't done too badly in Novice, next year im gonna have a crack @ Elementary. I have also nominated for the NSW PC State Dressage @ Bingara, but I dont know if I got in yet, Will keep you posted.
Next year my aim is to Qualify for EFA Young Riders Nationals, but I know that my mum won't let me take time off school for it (i'll b in yr 11)
Neway thats it from me 4 now.

Heya Kristi,
Congrats on all your achievements and good luck in the YR classes as well as here on the forum!
Happy.....................................Forummin g!
Well done, Kirsti - it's great to see you doing lots of different disciplines on the way through. Your post gave me a jolt of nostalgia - I remember Jim McGill, and when the trophy was instigated. How wonderful that it's still happening.
Best of luck for next year - I'll look forward to seeing your results come through.
Oh, and why is Anstead a hole? ;)
Many years ago I lived at Moggill, when what is now Anstead was part of Moggill. In fact, in those days there was only Kenmore, then Moggill - no Pinjarra Hills, no Anstead, no Bellbowrie. God, I'm old!
Are you a member of Moggill Pony Club? As club secretary at the time of purchase, my name is on the documents relating to the property in O'Brien Road. I see that it's now in Pullenvale!

Oh, and why is Anstead a hole? ;)
Hi, Ann, sorry if i hurt your feelings when i said that anstead was a hole, I really hate the area coz it is full of jerks who speed down the main road and honk their horns when they speed past and scare my horse, my sister once had accident on da road coz someone speed past her and her horse and tooted their horn, pony reared and galloped home, leaving sis on the side of da road.
I would also love to have more land, I only have 2.5 acres, with a dam but horses can't go in it. My parents say that the paddock is not big enough 4 a dressage arena, and i have to work my horse on the side of a gentle hill,
the only arena around that i know of is my instructors but I have to ride along Mt Crosby Rd to get there and it always scares me coz I have to cross it to get to the other side.

I used to live in Anstead, on Mt Crosby Rd. The road is pretty busy, but fortunately I had pretty easy going horses that didn't really react to the 80k traffic. I wouldn't want to take a young horse out around there though!
Have you been there long? We were the place that had the clydie and minature horse out the front, just up from the general store, when it was a general store (now a lawn mower shop...? What the?).
I loved living in Anstead, lots of very nice people and very social dressage scene, especially at the indoor I used to ride at. The only problem is the properties are too small, no way we could fit our 6 horses onto 2.5 acres now!!

I live down Hawkesbury Rd, and have been there 4.5 years, in a little street which was subdivided into 2.5 acres. which used to run cattle, the property was owned by Alex Kolcher.....? can't remember his full name. Owns a machinery business on Warrego Hwy, near the petrol stations up from walkuraka Rd.
At one stage the owners of the general store were trying to run a little cafe thingy but kinda went bankrupt (so i heard) and now it is a mower business.
My Horse has a thing with plastic bags and trucks which have trailers which rattle, scares her to death.
Where do you live now Zephyr?
Hi, Ann, sorry if i hurt your feelings when i said that anstead was a holeNo, I smiled, Kirsti, I really did smile! ;)
I really hate the area coz it is full of jerks who speed down the main road and honk their horns when they speed past and scare my horse, my sister once had accident on da road coz someone speed past her and her horse and tooted their horn, pony reared and galloped home, leaving sis on the side of da road. When I lived at Moggill (and that bit is still Moggill, although Bellbowrie and Anstead also used to be Moggill when I lived there), I used to ride up Moggill Road, and Mt Crosby Road, and all the other roads around. There were fewer people and cars then, of course, but we still had incidents. On one occasion, Zita Denholm, who was the original 'dressage person' in the area, drove past me on Moggill Road and gave me a friendly toot, causing my ex-racehorse to attempt all the airs above the ground, one after another! On another occasion, I was riding along Mt Crosby Road (which was gravel at the time) and a bus came roaring up. I tried to get the same ex-racehorse off onto the verge, but he baulked at a puddle in the road ('It could be hundreds of metres deep, mum!!!') and I came out the back door onto the road in front of the bus! Fortunately it stopped in time. So you have my sympathy; but your experiences aren't just because of the jerks who live there now. In those days, most of the people driving along those roads were locals, and still they didn't always understand the mind of the horse.
the only arena around that i know of is my instructors but I have to ride along Mt Crosby Rd to get there and it always scares me coz I have to cross it to get to the other side.Very uncomfortable, and I do sympathise, having been in the situation. Is there any way you can get a friend with a sensible horse to ride with you?

I live out near Rosewood. Not as nice as Anstead, but a lot cheaper and much bigger properties.
I worked at the general store for the last three owners, including the last one who sent it bankrupt. She owns that massive pink house thats for sale down near Essendon Rd. She's a total nutcase, she bought the little general store to finance another business she had that was going bankrupt, and she used to accuse all the employees of stealing money from the till, but never counted the money in the till to know if it was balancing or not!! She lived in a bit of a state of paranoia, and used to call the cops every second night about intruders on her property. They never found anyone. I left after she took it on. We own the bright yellow spotty hire floats that used to get hired out of the store, and that gets hired out of Jyttes produce store ;)

Zephyr- how long ago would that have been- I catch my school bus from the store and have been for 4 years, would you have been there then???
My friends and I used to ride into the state forest and then stop on the way home and buy a drink or an icecream. but then that friend stopped being my friend for some reason, i think because i didn't like jumping, preffering to keep sunnees feet on the ground, much safer that way!!!

Yeah, I stopped working there at the start of 2003. I mostly only worked weekends, though, being the conscientious student that I was :p .
I think I remember a group of girls on their horses that would ride in to get snacks. When I lived in Nerang we used to ride our horses to the BiLo to buy Sarah Lee Ultra Chocolate Ice Cream (1L tub, and eat the whole lot in one sitting!) plus other chocolate things  , or we used to ride our horses down to the Maccas near the highway and ride them through the drive through :D I wonder what Zephyr would think if I tried to do that to him!
Doesn't sound like much of a friend! Teenage girls are so weird. I used to chop and change friends all the time, too  .
