Unlike the old board, this new one groups the posts in threads, which means that the messages you post actually get attached to the messages you reply to. This results in conversations - sort of like groups of people at a party. If you use Hybrid or Threaded view, then you can see this thread tree, and follow the individual conversations.
This is why it's really, really important that you are careful to use the Reply buttons in the message you are replying to, and not just the one at the end of the thread. If you just use the one at the end the way you did in the old board, then your reply will get attached to that one, and probably won't make much sense to the member who sees it attached to her/his last post.
