Back in work!!!

Sorry guys, but I have to tell somebody... 2 weeks ago I slowly started to bring my mare back into work after a 6 months break. (she went lame after the Nerang comp in March... :( )

Have been walking her for 2 weeks, just focusing on rythm and regularity.. and today I trotted her again!
The first couple of meters were a bit hesistant.. but after that she felt wonderful!
Had to restrain myself not to do too much, or too long..

Will this mean that we are back on the long, long road to recovery?? :D

thanks Ann, I decided to do it differently this time.. really slowly and not worrying about the amount of comps that I have (or will) not attended... listening to her, and go with the flow!

mmmm, so much for going slow!

Had a ride on her again today and she felt fantastic! We did some walk-work and she is sooo sensitive; half halts and full halts work really well on her and her lateral work is very light and supple!
Trot work is a little bit flat but might improve when she gets a bit stronger.
She felt like she wanted to canter so we did, and it went really well. Even did a few walk-canter-walks....

WOOHOO, the girl is back!

(will give here a few days off now, to get over the shock of being back in work again!)
