How did the first Samford Official event go? I got the results this afternoon; very speedy! Thanks, Phoebe.

I thought it went well! Everything seemed to run smoothly, there were no major incidents, the rings ran to time and everyone seemed happy...

I personally had a great day and am looking foward to the next one!

of course, anyone who attended our day is more than welcome to make some suggestions if they feel something could have been done better...

We had a really great day.
I was so proud of all the volunteers who made this day happen! We even had a group of 10 'spares'...

Our lessons learnt:
- Make sure you have enough runners and that they collect the sheets from both judges per arena
- Have a group of 3 - 4 people scoring (we had this and it worked really well! the results came out almost instantly!)
- Having a friendly gate steward really works like a charm! People are happy to enter your venue and have a point to ask questions.

- For official competitions on grass, the centreline has to be mown. (we didn't do this..... mental note for next year!)
- Have the phone numbers of the judges at the venue, just in case you need them during the day (or just after they left....)

We probably missed a few things, but all in all it was a very good day!

Can I say "THANK YOU" to all the people who helped to make this day a wonderful first official competition?
(and I'd like to support Phoebe's comment... please let us know what you thought when you were at the SEG Official... all comments and constructive criticism is welcome!)
