My name is Sarah and I'm 18 and live in Benowa on the Gold Coast.

I've been riding all my life but took a couple of years off for my final years at school and now I'm out of school I'm back into riding and am searching for a horse of my own.

Here is basically a rundown of the criteria that I've been using so far:

15hh - 16.3hh max (I'm fairly short at 165cm)
colour is not an issue but I'd really prefer to stick to bays, dapple greys, chesnuts.
breed is not an issue but I've only ever had experience with Thoroughbreds, Australian Stock Horses and Quarter Horses.
I've got a very strict budget of around $3000.
4-10 years of age
Not particularly looking for an acomplished show horse but it needs to have been broken in and must be willing to work (I dont particularly want to be kicking the horse on every stride to get it to move off my leg :( which is why I'm having slight problems finding the right horse)

As you can tell I'm not particularly too fussy :) I would just love to have a horse that I can ride and go on with. I havent shown in a few years so I am looking to get back into that in the future. I have already got a place sorted out for agistment and have almost everything a horse will need minus rugs and exercise boots (as that will depend on what the individual horse needs).

If anyone knows of a horse in the Gold Coast area that might fit this description or knows of a good website to use then could you please let me know? It would be very much appreciated.

Thanks so much,
Sarah

p.s. I have already checked Horse Deals, Trading Post and Simple Trade :)

p.s. I have already checked Horse Deals, Trading Post and Simple Trade :)

Have you looked on some of these websites at all?

www.horseyard.com.au (http://www.horseyard.com.au)
www.horsedirectory.com.au (http://www.horsedirectory.com.au)

Also, some of the dressage clubs have for classifieds on their websites. Might be worth a look!

Good luck! I know it can be a long process finding one, but one will pop up. Horsedeals doesn't have too much advertised this issue. Is it just me or are most of the good ones in NSW?!

Hi, I don't know if you would be interested or not or if he would suit you but, I have a 15.3 (approx) chestnut TB gelding for sale. He is off the track about 18 months. He is by Green Line Express(USA) out of Richmaur Girl. He has a small white star and two white back socks. He is rising 7. He's a lovely looking horse but, I just don't have the time to do him justice as I have 3 galloways and a pony at the moment and I've decided I don't want a hack. Anyway, if you are interested you can email me pikedale@bordernet.com.au and then I can give you my phone number and you can call me if you are interested? Cheers Jayne

Hi Wingana,

I might be able to help too. I am riding a few horses for someone to sell. I've ridden 3 of the 5 so far, one would have suited perfectly but has been sold. The others are the pony, 2 TB's and a stockhorse. I'm not really sure what prices he has in mind for them, but they are all really quiet. One has had 3 months with a top local eventer, ad he's got the makings of a great horse.
I've been able to jump on all of them so far without lungeing them and they haven't been ridden for 12 months.
