Well, this is my first post, so what a great place to start.

My name is Amelia, but everybody calls me Millie. Was born in 1985 on Valentines Day. Currently living in the Hawkesbury in NSW.
Had first riding lesson when 8 with Gill Rickard on a Haflinger, rode the Haffy's for about 2 years, then was fortunate enough to ride her GP horse Peaches and Cream (now that was amazing!!!), and still training with her today. Got my first horse when I was bout 13, a 15.1hh purebreed arab (Whyneema Nehemiah), he is medium level, but now retired. Next horse was a TB (Black Adder II), got him to PSG before we lost him. After that folks decided not to buy me another horsie until Id finished my HSC that year, however I needed my horse fix, so strated to ride and compete on Gill's horse (Voodoo), spent 3 years riding him at PSG/Int 1, groomed him in Athens for the Paralympics.
Currently have 4 horses, the retired arab, a broody by Kassiber, a 3yo by Fidgi who is just strating working now and showing great potentail and a 10yo Danish Trakhaner, competing elem/med training adv/PSG but currently injured!!! (Hopefully will be slowly coming back into work in 3 weeks, its already been 4 months!!!)
My local dressage club is Dressage NSW at Clarendon.

On the non horsey scene, I played netball for 8 years, and come from a very competitive sporting family, both my dad and his brothers were international water skiers, and my uncle was a world water skiing champion, so I am very fortunate to have parents that not only support my riding but understand what it takes to get to the top, and all the time, money and training involved. Also fortunate to work for dad, so can weasel my way out of work to ride when necessary!!!

I did 12 months of uni in 2003 (B Systems Agriculture), hated every minute of it, now work full time in Real Estate.
Thats about it

Later Millie

Welcome, Millie. You're right, this is a good way to start posting. I bet Rick is happy to have another NSW-flavoured Mexican here to keep him company, too.

I remember seeing Gill ride Peaches and Cream at Lochinvar. You were very fortunate to be in a position to ride a GP horse early, and get the feel before trying to teach your own horses the movements.

Now you've started to participate, why not jump into some other threads? We need some more new blood in the forums.

It was pretty amazing to ride piaffe/passage when I was 10!!!
If I had too much inside rein or my outside leg was being a bit strong on a 10m canter circle she would do a pirohette!!!

Forgot to mention my puppies, I have a 13yo newfoundland, our vet thinks she would be coming pretty close to the oldest newfie in Aus, and a 2yo Lhasa Apso x Maltese. The newfie was a show dog, and was 3 times national champion.

That's a fair age for a Newfie! A man I know used to keep one in a tiny apartment in Manhattan. It makes me wonder which part of the apartment he managed to live in - the Newfie would have taken up most of it. Also, I wonder how often he had to clean up the slobber...

The slobber can be pretty good!!!
I find it amusing when non animal people come over and are confronted by this big, black, hairy, drooling machine!!!

Yes, and they're probably more in danger of a nip from the Maltese cross than a bite from the Newfie.

Only if they can get her out from behind the furniture, she is a real wuss, and hides whenever we have people over!!! Although if someone tried to grab her she would definately protest!!!

My sister had a Maltese once, and he used to hide in the walk-in wardrobe.
