I am.
We've entered in the associate and Nadec M.O Novice because of the time he's had off. We probably shouldn't be going but if we don't, our next comp will be Great S.E Champs at the end of June or NADEC associate the weekend before, and he won't have competed for 10 weeks. Which reminds me to go and do my entries....

I missed the entries :( Oh well, it will probably be good to give my boy a rest for a few weeks before the GSE Championships at Caboolture.

So how did everyone go?
I didn't get to look at all the results. I was pencilling the elementary, advanced and I-1 (Thanks Freya!) most of the afternoon. That was an experience! The advanced was so much harder to pencil for...
My impressions were that most people had a pretty rough day. There were a couple of dismounts, and on a whole, most horses looked pretty tense and not their usual selves. The marks that I saw reflected this and although the placings were similar to usual, the percentages were down by at least 5%. That might have been to do with the show jumping, but I think it was more the cooler weather - horses going bonkers everywhere early in the morning! The grass was also pretty slippery until the sun came out and dried up the dew. I know that I really didn't want to push Rocky in the warm-up for his first test, and a result he was resistant and stiff. Second one was a lot better obedience wise, but got a lower %.
So we got a 1st and a 3rd in the associate novice classes with a 60 and 61.

Well you said that you didn't mind pencilling. :-) I had to pencil extra classes cos someone wasn't there on time, but it was good, the judge that I was pencilling for had some good pointers.
So we got a 1st and a 3rd in the associate novice classes with a 60 and 61.
Well done Dan!

I meant Thanks in a good way! Very interesting to see that most comments had to do with the basics, like being tense, and a lot to do with the hindquarters, especially in the half pass, where they were either trailing or leading, and the changes seemed to be a problem too. It was good!
Hoofie, I didn't see you on the chestnut, but I saw you on your white pony, she was a cutie!

Oops..well in that case no problem!!!hehehe yeah I think that Judge was a good one to pencil for (the one you had in the advanced) I pencilled for her for the PSG and elementary classes, and yep same stuff, basics, 1/4s in half pass, not enough ground covering in extensions and changes were problems...it was good to learn things from her too...and she gave me some tips for elementary stuff too when I was pencilling for that.

From what I saw, and I don't mean to pffend anybody, but it was a pretty ordinary comp. The standards there were absolutely nothing comapred to the bigger competitions being run. Quite a shame actually. Again, no offense to you guys whow ere there, it was just a general observation.
