Hi All

i have come across a w/b filly for sale at a fair price and she is beauitful, but she is not broken in.. i am just wondering if any of you guys know how much it is to get a horse broken in for dressage?? roughly..
Im just trying to work everything out before i decide.(costs)

And also what would you look for in a young horse to find out if it will be a good dressage horse??
i was thinking of taking a coach with me if i like her...

The hind quarters! Always the hind quarters first. Check to see how upright they ae behind and go from there. If they're weak in there back end, collection will be a problem. Then I think temperament is second most important. You can get away with any weakness if you have the right temperament.

What Jytte said; and also, you need to see three good paces. Especially the walk. You can improve the trot and canter with education and muscle development, but if a horse doesn't have a naturally good walk, nothing you do will improve it.
