I've been "loitering" so to speak for quite some time now and I think it's time I finally introduced myself!

Hi, my name's Andrea, I'm currently in Yr 11 and I'm an absolute dressage fanatic! I started to become interested in dressage about four years ago on a less than co-operative stock horse mare that was well past her used by date...everyone has to start somewhere. However, back in the day dressage was not always my first choice, being 12 and all I'd rather gallop around and jump all day. Fortunately, my parents put their two cents worth in and it was decided that I was going to learn dressage, as it was the basis of all disciplines and that was that! Since then, I've never looked back...

I have two horses at the moment, Chester (16.3hh 9yo chestnut TB gelding), who's currently working at Elementary/Medium level and my new project, Çava (16.2hh 4yo black WB gelding by Carbine), who I'm hoping to take out next year if all goes well.

We have just bought some acreage, so finally we can have our own facilitation! Contrary to popular belief, convincing your parents that an indoor arena is absolutely necessary is surprisingly difficult...that, of course, does NOT mean I'm going to stop trying...

Well, that's about it for now...looking forward to being a part of this forum and of course, nice to meet you!

Great to see you here, Andrea, and welcome!

It seems your parents are pretty supportive, in spite of not providing you with an indoor arena. Maybe next year... ;)

If you do get one, I'm sure you'll suddenly discover that you're voted the most popular DressageIT member within seconds of the announcement. :D :D

Welcome aboard hope you enjoy the forum. The Carbine guy sounds very nice, I worked a lovely chestnut Carbine boy recently for a few months and he was very nice. Good luck with it all.
And if you work out the go with the indoor let us know and we ll try it.

Oh, lovely! Another enthusiastic new member - welcome, Andrea! (Must be winter down there ... more people seem to be dropping in. ;)) Can't wait to hear more about your horses and the new horse property. Feeling slightly envious.... :D
