:( Not happy Jan! My English leather top boots which are only 1 year old have broken a zipper. Any recommendations on where to get these fixed?

I got my Cavello top boots repaired at Walkalong - ph/fax98892800
I think they are in Victoria. Brillant repair and has extend the life of my beautiful boots. Another idea is to return to place of purchase and see if they can get repair under waranatee(?), they cost an arm and leg so you want them to last longer than a year.

You could try Mous Boots, I know they replace zippers.

I got zippers put into mine by this shoe maker in Ashmore. He also makes riding boots and did an excellent job. Send me a pm if you want his number.:)

Mous boots put my zippers in and repaired the busted top button for free when that happened. Very good workmanship (just wish I had a pair of their boots instead of my petries).

i not long ago had zips put in my konigs at jannusch's shoe repairs in toowoomba. the have done a lot of these, and do a very good job.

cost for cutting and installing (??) full length zips into my boots was $65. not bad when i just paid 75euro to have them put in my new boots!!

Do you have the contact number for Mous Boots? I have been trying to find it to have a new pair made.

Go towards Esk and take the D'aguiler highway left - you will see a BP on the left - turn right into the property. There a sign - its been over 2 years since I was there then.

I am pretty sure it is Colinton or something like that. But it isn't a town, just a BP servo as far as I can tell.

Mous boots put the zip in my Cavallo's. I asked them to put the zip in the front/inside of the boots. This puts less strain on the zip. It also makes them easier to zip up.
When I spoke to boot sellers at the nationals they told me that that is were the zip is put in dressage boots. Not sure if that is true but I certainly have had no problem and I believe they look better.

My Mous boots have an inside/front zip. They are very easy to get on and off and are very comfy to ride in. you never notice the zip.

Yep that is where my zip was put too. The guy who did mine said that if you put the zip up the back it would ruin the boots as that is where the stiffness comes from, and if the zip went there they would just be floppy.

I had my zips put to the inside of exisiting stiffner in the back of the boots so it didn't affect the stiffness at all but with hindsight I wish I had them put to the inside front as people above have suggested.....because of the hard heel support in my boots the zip could only go to the top of the heel so I still have trouble getting my foot through the ankle part, if they had been put to the inside front I wouldn't have that problem.....hindsight is a wonderfull thing !!!!

Hindsight is a wondeful thing indeed!!! Although having them at the inside front I had a problem with them un-zipping themselves....not entirely sure why (it was nothing to do with the zip-maybe it was being rubbed down by the stirrup leathers, cos it had only started doing it recently) but got that fixed. Nick put some leather and velcro that goes over the top of the zip so it can't be moved.
