My name is Sharyn Hungerford, and yes I have been posting for a little while, and I have finally found enough time and inclination to do my "who are you" thread! I am thirty something (choose not to remember!) married with an 18mth old boy, Connor, and I began riding at 9. I have trained as an Equine Myofunctional Therapist (massage) and work part time around my boy and my riding. My number one horse is Tennessee (aka Arnold) who is a purebred arabian  but doesn't look like it, we are currently competing and graded advanced and are keen to move up to PSG this year. I have another purebred gelding, Anna's Dakota who has just started his 'arabian show' career, he is bay and sweet as a button! I also have a couple of arabian warmblood babies.
I have another strong passion and that is for Western Pleasure. Love it.
Love chocolate more than air too! :) Love this site, and the 'brotherhood' that it brings about. Thank you Ann

Hi, how are you, glad to hear you have an arab too. Surprising how many people do. At the Australian Arabian Champs this year there were 2 in the advanced, myself and a young lady named Amelia Gilmore on Bahrein Majestic. She actually beat us in the Adv as we managed to get our tongue over the bit and buggered up about 8 movements! We did beat her however in the Medium. So the article was probably about one of us!

Hi Sharyn,
Glad to see you post this. I enjoy the company of this forum too. For me it has broken down the "snobby" image of dressage and brought a little camaraderie and friendship to the comp's for me.
Good luck with your horsies this year!
Hey, Sharyn
Thanks for letting us know the details, especially the chocolate addiction. Next time we're going to Freestyle, farm off the kids and horses, and come down for a great lunch. We could organise a Sunshine Coast/Caboolture shuttle so we don't take too many vehicles.
The chocolate desserts are great, and I actually think the first courses are even better! From a chocoholic, that is praise indeed.

Thanks Ann and David, on the subject of chocolate desserts - there is a restaurant at Maroochydore called the Ebb and it is right on the river. Well they have the most fantastic chocolate desserts ever - apparently they have 2 full time dessert chefs! One is purely a chocolate chef! Can you beleive it - imagine marrying him!!

One is purely a chocolate chef! Can you beleive it - imagine marrying him!!Ooh, it would probably be both heaven and hell to marry a chocolate specialist! This chocoholic only survives by pretty much only eating it out of the house. If I keep any around I can't stop eating it. Having my own personal chocolate chef would be the end of any willpower I've got.
Clearly you are in good company here with regard to both horses and chocolate - thanks for the intro, Sharyn!
soooo...... when are we going??Maybe we should go there on the Saturday night of the SC Champs...
There will be lots of GC people there camping, so they could come too.

Ah but Franca,
it is Murphy's Law that you marry a farrier to get your horses shod LAST, a vet to ignore your horses aliments, a chef who refuses to cook at home (speaking from x experience that one!), a fencer who watches his/her own fences collapse and rot away....
Let me get this straight; you guys are saying that marrying a chocolate chef is going to get you an endless supply of chocolate delicacies at the wave of your hand???? Interesting. ;)
Well, I guess... you gotta have a dream rite? :D
Oh, and officially WELCOME SharynH! May your dreams be chocolate coated!

You have a point ... but I think that chocolate might be different due to its addictive properties. ;) No addictive properties attached to shoeing, fence-mending, and doctoring horse parts that I can think of, LOL!

I went out with a plumber in my youth for about 4 years, His father and brother were also plumbers and they all lived at home.
When it rained their mother put buckets out under the leaks in the roof and the upstairs toilet didn t work in the entire 4 years I knew them.

So true, so true!
I massage horses and guess what? My horses are in desperate need of a massage! My problem is allocating the child free time - so many other things are taking precedence at the moment - new house etc.
Dinner or should I say dessert on the Sat of SC champs is a super idea Ann! I wonder if they would do a take away dessert order for about 50?
