View Full Version : Hiya to all
Hiya, i'm new to the forum so i thought i would introduce myself. My name is dee and i am also fairly new to dressage. Apart drom dabbling in pony club i don't have much experience. I retired mt pony club horse in 99 to pursure a career in Ballet but soon realised that my horse was much kinder about my weight. after a year or so i quit. i soon met my husband who is in the RAAF, so that has made getting back into riding difficult.
I have always admired dressage, i think having training as a classical dancer has helped me to appreciate it more. Plus i'm not a jumper, i like my feet on the ground!
So now i have taken the plunge and bought myself a 3yo TB mare and about to start my dressage career. the problem is i'm in QLD and my horses are in SA.
So until we take a posting to Adelaide, i am trying to learn as much as i can, which is what led me to your wonderful forum.
Well thats about it for now, i must worn you all, me and computers don't mix, so if i muck it up, Whoops! sorry
Dee

Hiya Back Dee...have fun here! :p
Hmm, wonder what happened to my earlier message...
Welcome to the forum, Dee. So sorry to hear you are currently separated from your horses; that must be hard to take.
In the meantime, if you need a dressage fix, do go to the Toowoomba Championships 19th to 20th May, at the Showgrounds. Yell in here if you need directions. The draw will be out sometime around 12th May.
Thanx Ann, it is hard to be apart from them especially my older horses. But now my husband owes me big time($$$$) ha ha.
It's funny you mention toowomba champs because i read about it the forum earlier and ive just jumped back online to book my hotel room!!!!!!!
Good luck to all attending!

Hi Dee
No i'm a Donna. a bit unusual to be shortened to dee i know but i hate being called Don!! and just D looks funny, so the ee got added. Good-luck! because i don't have my horses with me at the moment i am practicing my dressage on an exercise ball lol. however i have read a book once which said that gym balls are good for developing good posture in the saddle. so if you ever see someone with fantastic posture but doesn't have a clue what she is doing....... come up and say hello to me lol
Hiya, everyone is soo kind. i can wait to play with my new pony!!! I got her papers today. it's exciting looking at her pedigree and recognising so many names like danehill, northern dancer and ozone, it means if i did a bad job finding a dressage horse i can at least breed with her.
